Beautifully Moody Scotland Elopement

A common question aimed at us, Scotland Elopement photographers is: what happens if there is bad weather, what's plan B? The absolute truth is, it's best to be prepared for pretty much four seasons in a day, some warm change of clothes, layers, some hot drinks in a flask, perhaps a camping stove to make a cup of hot bevarage. Scotland weather ris no joke, it's completely unpredictable, especially in the hills, mountains, up in the Highlands. Plan B is usually to not climb up any hills, and look for views that are breathtaking but don't require any hillwalking and climbing, perhaps looking up a cozy pub or cafe to warm up for a wee bit.

I had the chance to witness this dreamy elopement last year. It started with a nice and almost Sunny ceremony, and the weather progressively got more gloomy - however, this actually added so much to the day, the dramatic backdrop of the Scottish Highlands comes alive when it is drenched in clouds and rain. Of course, this couple was super lucky, as it started heavily raining towards the end of the day, so they could enjoy getting soaked to the bone, dancing barefoot in the rain, knowing that they can go back to their cozy Highland Lodge, cuddle up by the fire with a glass of wine soon.

LGBTQ+ elopement photographer Scotland, Highlands and Edinburgh

Of course, as a photographer mostly working in nature and sometimes having to fight with the elements and weather changes, it is my duty to keep up the good mood and vibes, whatever the day throws at us! If you want to escape a big traditional wedding, or perhaps have an elopement experience in addition to a more traditional wedding, and you would like to work with an LGBTQ+ Elopement photographer for your exciting big day, reach out, and let's get started with the planning!
