It's time I finally share this beautiful engagement session from April. Dean Village is very close to my heart, as it's where I have done my very first couple's session that wasn't for family or friends. Coming back a few years later, with another gorgeus couple, grown a lot since then as a photographer and as a person - it just feel amazing and is a full circle moment.
Jules and Reilly got engaged a few months back, and wanted some photos to celebrate their engagement in their chosen home, Edinburgh. We spent around an hour together, meeting up at St. Bernards Well, then walking towards Dean Village on the Water of Leith path. When people ask me, what is the best time to have a photoshoot in Edinburgh - I usually do say that April-May and then September - October is a pretty good time. Summer can be extremely busy in the city, Sunset is late, Sunrise is super early - so it is a bit more tricky to find a convenient time for a photoshoot. Spring and Autumn is a good inbetween with more managable crowds and weather. However, of course, Winter has it's positives(less people and late Sunrise) as well, and there are locations outside of the most popular areas that still show and offer the beautify of this city during the peak Summer tourist season, offering a more intimate experience. As a Scotland based queer elopement and wedding photographer, I love meeting couples in beautiful locations, get to know them a little and capture their story.
